Hi,
I've been looking around this forum today and first of all I would like to thank the authors for making QucikPar, great utility as it seems it will be able to help me out.
I'm just looking for some comments / help regarding how I am planning to use QuickPar to make sure I can try to recover from CD / DVD media that has failed or might fail in the future.
I mostly want to backup large files, usually around a full CD in size (700MB) and sometimes a few small text files.
I was thinking on doing the following:
1) Burn the files to the CD or DVD media. (normally I use Nero 6)
2) Verify the burn.
3) Make an ISO image of what I just burnt from the media I just burnt. (using ISObuster)
4) Use QuickPar to create par files, etc using around 10% redundancy from that ISO image.
Now I realize that those par files are only good on my hd until it dies. Also, is there a way to speed up this process? In other words make an image before burning, then make the pars from that image, then just burn that image.
Hopefully I'm making some kind of sense here.
Thanks for the help in advance,
